- Operational Test (if possible)
- Earth Leakage Test (if Operational Test carried out)
- Tests on computer equipment are "soft tests" of 100mA on earth continuity
- No operational tests are carried out on computer CPUs
Labeling

Barcode Labels
Symbian Support Limited use barcode labels on all portable appliances, we use identification labels on all power leads and place a pass or fail labels on all items tested, We have introduced barcode labels as part of our internal quality procedures, to ensure the traceability of equipment.
Each barcode is unique for every appliance across all the testing Bar-coding appliances greatly assists in tracking appliances. It also allows our engineers to concentrate more on checking your appliances rather than writing asset labels.
Barcode Scanners
Our engineers use long range bar code scanners.
Whilst these are considerably more expensive than those used by most PAT Testing companies, they allow us to read barcodes at a distance which help facilitate minimising disruption to your workplace as equipment does not have to be moved so often.
These barcode scanners are programmed by us to triple check the reading of the appliance number.
Technical Specifications
Our barcodes are 9 digits long and written in Code39 format. There are many different types of barcode formats, Code39 is one of the most popular and is easily readable by 3rd party programs and other barcode scanners.
For larger customers who wish to have their own labels made up, we can source custom designed labels with your logo at a very competitive price.
Equipment

The PAT4Dv is a comprehensive, portable electrical appliance tester It is designed to safely test IT equipment. with the ability to test Class1 and Class II equipment. The tester is dual voltage so it can test 110 Volt and 230 Volt appliances.
The units can perform fundamental safety tests on Class 1 (earthed) and Class II (double insulated) appliances.
Appliance details including a description of the appliance are entered in full using the QWERTY keyboard.
The PAT4Dv/3 is fully Compatible with latest IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) Code of Practice.
Our engineers record in the PAT Tester the following information whilst on site:
- Test Date
- Test Time
- Test engineer
- Appliance Id
- Appliance Description
- Room Location
- Retest Period (number of months before next retest due)
- Types Of Test Carried Out
- Charge Cost for testing the appliance
- Any repairs, fuse replacements carried out
